LTE's Knight's Tale of passion and success

Michael Kratzer rides over hill and dale - for his passion(s) and for the last few months also for LTE. Being considered one of the best independent motocross bikers in Europe he presents a remarkable mid-season in 2023.

The year 2023 began exactly as Michael had imagined: on a trip to New Zealand - originally intended to combine winter training with a challenge - he quickly made friends with the completely different climate and the slope conditions. His efforts were rewarded with a 4th place overall for the season and a podium finish in the last race of the championship. Back in his home Styria, at the beginning of the season he achieved another excellent 2nd place in his home race in Paldau when a serious shoulder injury almost catapulted him out of the race for months. But Michael endured the season in a sturdy Styrian way with his personal three “Rs”: running (between appointments), rehab (in between) and rest (whenever it was possible). This helped him to finish second in the domestic championship, making him the most successful independent motocross biker in Austria.

After a relaxing holiday in Croatia in a mobile home, where the region around Split was made unsafe with his aforementioned princess (however, not forgetting the healing process of his shoulder), the autumn races in Austria are already taking place in late summer. "I still have a few appointments in the Czech Republic waiting for me," Michael plans for the next few weeks and also thinks about his plans for 2023/24. "Of course I'm considering participating in New Zealand again, but that depends on recovery of my shoulder and the necessary budget." And then - breaking news: a dream comes true: "The MxoN (Motocross of Nations) World Championship, where three riders per nation compete in France this time. In addition to the challenge, I am of course particularly pleased to have broken through the Austrian KTM phalanx,” Michael says happily.

We admire Michael Kratter not only because of his achievements, his consistent stamina and his creativity in his profession, but also regarding our motto: Moveo, ergo sum.
