LTE AT's highly personal affairs

These days the railway industry in particular has got a huge workload in order to be able to face the challenges for example posed by climate change. Florian Münzer and Edith Pölzl ensure the best weather conditions for the staff of LTE AT.

"On the one hand, Edith and I try to ensure that, when it comes to personnel, all bureaucratic necessities are fulfilled," says Florian Münzer. "So we make sure that new employment contracts are drawn up quickly, that all the documents for the registration are available ... or short: we create a personnel file for each employee." We are actively supported by the human resources department and payroll accounting of GKB.

On the other hand, this is of course the easier part of the challenges that management and colleagues pose on us: "Together we select the aspirants for the vacant positions, which means we and the department heads in the company and, of course last, but not least, our managing director Heinrich Juritsch.”
In order to create the best work environment for the employees, certain topics such as working hours or duty schedules are regulated in advance by means of company agreements together with the represenatives of the staff. “We have concluded such agreements with our "Triebfahrzeugführer:innen (short: TFZF)", or (easier) train drivers and wagon masters. Of course, the pay has to be right, but we are also known in the industry for finding cooperative solutions in difficult times, that are based on the economic requirements but also meet the wishes of the employees.” It is very important to pay attention to all generations, because 20 years of company experience also realign the needs of our employees: "Young colleagues certainly focus on something different than "older" ones do, and the offers that we make are created together with our staff so that they feel comfortable with us for as long as possible.”

But it is not just about keeping an eye on present needs - for the entire team it is of existential importance to raise the view to the future: "Together with our mother GKB we instruct train drivers, who meet the requirements of the 21st century: the international interaction of the rail-transport industry. That's why we enable our train drivers, for example, to acquire the licence for the German railway network." By this, LTE AT and thus the entire LTE-group are once again raising the level a little higher, meeting trends in European railway interaction. "But it's not only about cost reductions and profit optimization, it shows another facet: LTE is a European company with a strong heart in Austria and an equally strong organism incorporated by what is now a golden dozen of competent siblings.”
